Junior Heavyweight Events

Events include:

Date: Saturday, August 3, 2024
Location: Behind the Sports Hall of Fame Building
Age Groups: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

Registration: Online only. The deadline for registration is Sunday, July 28, 2024 at noon. Children must be registered online to participate. Walk-ups will not be accepted. Maximum capacity is 120 children.
Competition: 9:00am - 11:00am

Highland attire is encouraged and parental supervision is requested.

Update (June 21, 2024) - Junior Heavyweights registration is full for 2024.

Children’s Track Events

Track events are open to all ages, boys and girls.

Races are 60m, 200m, 400m and 800m. 

Date: Saturday, August 3, 2024
Location of Registration: north end of grandstand D
Age Groups: subject to change based on number of racers

Registration: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Events start: 2:00pm

Online registration starts May 3, 2024. The deadline for advance pre-registrations is Thursday, August 1, 2024 at noon.

Wee Bairns Play Area

The Glengarry Highland Games is delighted to offer a special play area for young children, known as the Wee Bairns tent. This area has gained popularity over the past few years and is an excellent source of fun for the entire family. However, it is important to note that parents, guardians, or caregivers are required to accompany their children at all times. Children cannot be left alone in the play area.

A shaded tented area with restroom and wash station. Open 10 am - 4 pm.

The area is located at the southeast corner of the property, specifically behind the Metcalfe Center.

Entertainment includes 

  • The talented face painters will be available on both days from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  • A petting farm with animal feed for a small fee

  • Pony rides are available for a small fee

  • Inflatable games 

  • Large soybean sandboxes with toys

  • Wooden oversized board games 

  • Scottish-themed colouring stations

  • Puppet theatre and make your own puppets
